Trekking Cusco
This is the internationally famous and highly sought after Inca Trail......but the short version. For those of us who on more of a budget, or simply don´t have the time (or strength) for the full Classic 4 Day Trek. |
The trek of all treks, the Inca Trails, needs no introduction. By far the most popular of the Inca trails for trekking is the Capaq Nan trail, which leads from the village of Ollantaytambo to Machu Picchu, the "Lost City of the Incas". |
Salkantay is known amongst the localers as the "Route of the Gods" because of the diversity that it has to offer. In just one trail, you can experience low altitudes and mountainous terrain and this raise up to stand just under the snowy cap of an immense mountain. |
This is your oppertunity to take a week long trek up the biggest mountain in all of southern Peru (6384 meters). We will have the chance to see the natural wildlife of the high altitude Andes. |
Choquequiraw, which traslates to "Cradle of Gold", is the other Machu Picchu, or even, dare I say it, even more significant than even than the 7th Wonder itself. |
Choquequirao is located at the forested fringes of the Amazon basin, at an elevation of 1750 metres above sea level. Choquequirao bears a striking similarity in structure and architecture to Machu Picchu and is referred to as its 'sister'. |
The Lares Trek, for those are in the know about it, is the best route to arrive at Machu Picchu. Even better than the 4 Day Inca Trail, say some. It will take us into the Lares Valley section of the Andes Mountains. |
